Nisa Quarles
Intern
Nisa Quarles is a Summer 2026 intern. She is simultaneously interning with the National Coalition on School Diversity. She is a rising 2L at Georgetown University Law Center. She received her B.A. from Yale University, where she studied education and history with a concentration in race, gender, and sexuality. Her thesis, “Brown v. Board of Supervisors of Prince Edward County: Analyzing the Strategizing and Organizing of the Pro- and Anti-Desegregation Movements in Prince Edward County, Virginia, 1950-1964,” was partly inspired by her past school desegregation research with the National Coalition on School Diversity.
Nia has spent the majority of her life in Washington D.C., where she experienced a variety of school environments that sparked her interest in studying how the history of school segregation influences the daily experiences of students of color.
After she completes her internships, she will be joining the Racial Equity in Education Law and Policy Clinic at Georgetown as a student attorney this fall.
