We met with community members in Springfield to discuss problems facing their schools, including unequal access to college and career pathways, disproportionate disciplinary practices, and high teacher turnover, as well as potential solutions such as countywide school districts and “50/50” schools.

We shared a meal with community members and discussed issues facing their public schools, such as limited access to diverse educators, high suspension rates, and low rates of reading and math proficiency. We explored solutions such as district consolidation and excess revenue recapture.
